Seeking an experienced Automotive Industrial Engineer with a strong background in general assembly process optimization. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in automotive assembly environments, focusing on improving productivity, efficiency, and quality in general assembly lines. This role involves evaluating current processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing innovative solutions to optimize assembly operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and evaluate general assembly line processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for cost reduction.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce cycle time, and improve product quality.
- Use lean manufacturing principles and tools such as value stream mapping, time and motion studies, and line balancing to optimize workflow.
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure assembly processes align with product requirements and design for manufacturability (DFM).
- Develop and validate standard work processes and operator instructions for general assembly.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cycle time, first-pass yield, downtime, and resource utilization, and create action plans for improvement.
- Lead continuous improvement projects using Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other methodologies to optimize assembly line performance.
- Provide guidance on ergonomics and workstation design to ensure operator safety and efficiency.
- Document processes, create process flow diagrams, and support the implementation of new equipment and tooling as needed.
- Train operators and production staff on optimized processes and best practices for assembly line operations.
