Salary : £500-£540 per week

Location :   Lewisham, Deptford, SE8

Start date :  Immediate or September 2025

Hours :   8 : 30AM-4 : 00PM Mon-Friday

Graduate Humanities Classroom Assistant : Candidate Specification

  • We are seeking a Graduate Humanities Classroom Assistant who has or due to Graduate with a 2 : 1 or higher from a leading university in a Humanities-related subject (e.g. History, English, Geography, Theology, Politics, Philosophy)
  • Hold a strong passion for learning and teaching, and a desire to make a tangible difference in the lives of students
  • We are ideally looking for a Graduate Humanities Classroom Assistant who has some experience working with young people in any capacity (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, volunteering, peer support)
  • Well–organised and able to manage time and tasks effectively in a fast-paced school environment .

Graduate Humanities Classroom Assistant : Job Role

As a Graduate Humanities Classroom Assistant you will gain first-hand experience of teaching and learning in an “Outstanding” School environment, working alongside experienced, supportive staff while developing the knowledge, confidence and skills needed for a future in education.

  • Support the planning and delivery of engaging Humanities lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Provide 1-1 and small group interventions to support students who may need some extra guidance
  • Assist with lesson preparation, resource development, and classroom management
  • Track and monitor pupil progress, working closely with teachers to identify areas for improvement and celebrate success
