Role Overview :

In the role of HLTA, you will play a pivotal part in supporting their students' academic journey and overall well-being. Their goal is to ensure every student thrives in a nurturing and secure setting. This may involve implementing positive behaviour management strategies tailored to each child's unique requirements.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Uphold and promote student welfare in line with school policies, including safeguarding and the PREVENT initiative.
  • Collaborate with teachers to execute learning activities and experiences that are suitable for each class group. This will support a comprehensive curriculum designed to help students reach their maximum potential across all learning domains.
  • Foster positive relationships with students to create a safe, enjoyable, and educational environment.
  • Assist students in their learning process, providing additional explanations as needed and contributing to their educational journey.
  • Work under the teacher's guidance to compile evidence and information that highlights students' achievements and progress.
  • Engage in the evaluation of learning activities and provide constructive feedback on student performance.
  • Assist teachers in monitoring, assessing, documenting, and reporting student progress in accordance with school policies to ensure comprehensive tracking of student development.

Ideal Candidate Profile :

Qualifications :

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher
  • GCSE English and Maths, grade C (or 4 under the new system) or above
  • Knowledge and Experience :

  • Proficient in understanding and experience with students with SEN, SLD / PMLD, ADHD, and ASD
  • Familiarity with safeguarding principles and child protection procedures
  • Skilled in managing various behavioural approaches, including those addressing challenging behaviours
  • Experience in an educational setting is preferred
  • Experience in a multicultural, inclusive environment
