Working alongside our Global Director of Design and Technical Services, you will provide architectural, design support to major hotel development and refurbishment projects from inception to completionCollaborate with internal and external design teams to comprehend design intent and client requirements.You will periodically review and advise on application of DC property standards, creating and modifying new standards as needed to support upcoming projectsYou will have the ability to robustly interpret and interrogate drawings and technical specifications, and project documentation, and ensure designs adhere to brand guidelines, construction and Furniture Design Standards, and regulatory requirementsYou will support and coordinate with our hotels and corporate team in preparation and review of project milestones and annual and 10 year capital planningYou will support the Design and Technical Services department as required by the Company President, in presentations and meetings as requiredYou will prepare project reviews, research and advise on suitable development partners, and upkeep a list of relevant consultants and partners for upcoming projectsYou will contribute to define, review and refine a set of project management tools and guidelinesOur values of, Passion, Personality, Respect, Working Together and Creativity guide us each and every day. What you'll bring
You’ll bring your unique personality and passion to the role and the teamYou have or are graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Interior / Product Design, Engineering, Architecture, or a related fieldYou will have an interest and knowledge of architecture, or an associated discipline such as interior designYou have previous experience in reading and working with architectural drawings, and have good computer application skills including AutoCAD, SketchUp, Project software, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
You'll be able to review all project information including, but not limited to, local regulations, permitting guidelines, and site survey reports.You have previous experience in project documentation (design programming, design responsibility matrix, schedules etc), and ideally have experience to develop project briefsExperience collating and / or assisting in the presentation of projectsCommunication is what keeps our departments running perfectly. You have great written and verbal communication skillsEnglish is the primary language used in our hotel. You can comfortably communicate in this language, while another language is welcome.You ideally have prior experience in hotel property development and appraisal, and be familiar with hotel operationsAn awareness of luxury hotel trends, shopper innovation and sustainability would also be advantageous
