Utilities Coordinator

Vacancy : Utilities CoordinatorSalary : Up to £45,000 DOELocation : Head Office, GlasgowOne of the largest independent technical services companies in the UK, with over 50 years of experience delivering service solutions to a wide range of corporate and public sector clients, is seeking to expand its team.As a NERS-accredited Independent Connection Provider (ICP), they deliver contestable infrastructure projects, including the installation of cabling, electrical substations, and grid connections – up to and including 33kV.Due to rapid growth and expansion within the business, they are currently recruiting for an Electrical Contestable Designer / Coordinator to join their High Voltage / Utilities Department.Key Responsibilities include : Produce design approval packages and management of the design approval process with the UK DNOs / IDNOs.Interface with and attend meetings with clients, IDNO or DNO.Coordinate project requirements at the design and construction stage with civil, electrical, protection & control designers and other third parties where required.Coordinate design with clients, sub-contractors, consultants and designers.Lead project from tender design until the handover to the Project Delivery Team.Support the Project Delivery Team during construction and assist in the Project Design Change Process.Configure and maintain the project program through the design phase of the project.Preparation of design phase safety documentation on the projects, Design Risk Assessments and preliminary H&S plans where necessary.Undertake Network demand calculations and design Points of Connection (POCs) from existing electric networks to provide technical solutions and quotations for 3rd party POC Applications.Liaise with the MU team and wider business to resolve any issues.Key Skills and QualificationsPreviously worked within an ICP / IDNO / DNOKnowledge of LV / 11kV networksKnowledge of G81 specificationsCompetent user of various electrical design softwareCommitted and hard workingOrganised, with good time management skills and the ability to meet deadlinesCan adapt to different tasks quickly, efficiently and confidentlyCapable of working in an autonomous or team orientated environmentWell-presented and confidentConfident IT skills, proficient in the use of MS Office and Estimating softwareExcellent Communication skills both written and verbally
