A quick look at the role

The Brand Partnerships Manager is responsible for building the Biffa brand through group and regional sponsorships and community engagement. This will support the commercial and sustainability objectives of the business, building Biffa's reputation as a leader in sustainable waste management in both B2B and B2C environments.

Your core responsibilities

  • Develop a plan for Biffa's national sport sponsorship that will contribute to achieving key marketing objectives (increasing brand awareness and consideration, improving perceptions of the brand around key attributes in sustainability and social value / community).
  • Manage and support development of the Biffa partnership narrative, owning the sponsorship messaging framework and visual identity ensuring consistent execution across all touchpoints.
  • Develop the sponsorship campaign plan and manage key activations in partnership with the rightsholder, including working with regional leads and social value champions to develop and deliver community engagement programmes.
  • Manage activations / events / content capture on site, coordinating with stakeholders, volunteers, community groups, talent, photographers / videographers and media as required.
  • Manage the contractual rights from our sponsorships, ensuring optimum allocation to support business and marketing objectives and alignment with compliance processes.
  • Manage framework for identifying, activating, and evaluating Biffa's regional sponsorship opportunities, helping to support the profile and perception of the brand at a local level whilst also ensuring alignment with the group objectives.
  • Develop and provide analytics and insights for a sponsorship measurement framework for regional sponsorships, evaluating how sponsorships can deliver return on objectives and return on investment.
  • Take the lead on our Wasteaters platform to educate and engage communities, schools and consumers on how to reduce waste and recycle more. This includes management of a range of touchpoints from digital assets (website, education app) to our physical assets (vehicle wraps, containers) to merchandise.
  • Devise and deliver the annual Wasteaters campaign plan, working in partnership with teams including Digital Products, PR, Social, Content, Municipal, Corporate, Sustainability, Learning & Development, and Employee Comms / Engagement.
  • Work in partnership with our Municipal and Regional Marketing leads and the Sustainability team to identify local community engagement stories, amplify via owned and earned media, and measure Social Value outputs via our Loop measurement tool.

Our essential requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or Sport Management
  • 2 years experience in partnership or sponsorship marketing
  • Experience delivering community impact programmes involving children / young people
  • Project management of multi-channel marketing campaigns within a complex organisation
  • Knowledge of partnerships / sponsorship and the sports marketing landscape
