Role : Personal, Social Development (PSD) SEMH Teacher

Location : Chesterfield (S41)

Salary : £150 to £230 per day

Start Date : ASAP

As an Personal, Social Development SEMH Teacher, you will be integral to ensuring that students with SEMH needs receive the tailored support they need to succeed. The Role :

In this role, you will work directly with students who have social, emotional, and mental health needs, helping them navigate both academic and social-emotional challenges. Your key responsibilities will include :

  • Individualised Support : Develop and implement personalised learning strategies to help students access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
  • Progress Monitoring : Regularly assess student progress and provide insightful feedback to parents and colleagues to support their academic growth.
  • Emotional Support : Foster a nurturing and secure environment, offering emotional guidance and encouragement to help students manage their anxieties and behavioral challenges.
  • Communication : Ensure effective communication with teachers, parents, and other professionals involved in each student’s educational journey.
  • Inclusion : Advocate for inclusivity within the school community, ensuring that students with SEMH needs feel a sense of belonging and support.

Requirements :

  • Relevant experience as a PSD SEMH Teacher or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help students with SEMH needs succeed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability and the ability to work collaboratively with the school team.
  • Previous experience in supporting students with SEMH needs is advantageous.

    • A full UK driving license and full-time availability is essential.
