An exciting opportunity has arisen on our local Transfusion Unit- Nunton. The successful applicant will be responsible for assessing patients and delivering a range or treatments and procedures.
The successful applicant will join an enthusiastic, dynamic and highly trained team, delivering a range of transfusions and infusions to a wide group of patients.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for a group of patients without direct supervision. After a period of organisational and departmental induction you will be expected to work autonomously.
You will be required to administer a variety of infusions and transfusions including :
The successful applicant will also be responsible for a variety of other clinical skills including bloods, venesection and Picc Line Care.
You will undertake and document a comprehensive assessment of your patients and will be responsible for checking patients bloods prior to procedures, checking prescriptions and ensuring check list are completed and that patients are safe to have their treatments.
You will be required to formulate and document a plan of nursing care where possible in partnership with patients, clients and their families within a framework of informed consent.
This role will require the Registered Nurse to be competent in Oral and IV medication. It is also desired that the successful applicant will be competent in venipuncture, cannulation, blood transfusion competencies and picc line care. Training can be delivered for clinical skills if required. More important is that the successful applicant will be enthusiastic, hard working and a desire to work with patients to deliver a high standard of care.
