Senior Engineer (Structures) (Contract)Location : WinchesterHourly Rate : £45-50phStart Date : 02 / 04 / 2024Duration : On a 6 monthly rolling basis

About Our Client : Thriving in the public sector, our client leads with an adept in-house team proficient in diverse property functions. From civil engineering to project management, they excel across a spectrum of services, including contract management, surveying, asset management, and planning.Role Summary : As a Senior Engineer specialising in Structures, and at first, Bridges and design of refurbishment schemes. You will assist in the collection, assessment, and impartation of information essential to successful scheme preparation and implementation processes. Based in Winchester 2 days a week, you will prepare technical design and contract documents, liaise with relevant bodies, and ensure adherence to health and safety standards.Responsibilities :

Assist with the collection, assessment, and impartation of information for successful scheme preparation and implementation.Prepare or assist in the preparation of technical design and contract documents.Liaise with relevant bodies, including contractors and public utilities, as required.Work with due regard to health and safety and issues related to sustainability.Required Qualifications and Experience :

Chartered Engineer with the Institution of Civil Engineers or Institution of Structural Engineers.RQF Level 4-7 in a relevant engineering field.Specific working knowledge in the design and construction of bridges and other highway structures.Experience in the management and supervision of construction projects.Working knowledge of design codes, including British Standards and DMRB Standards.Working knowledge of Eurocodes.Experienced user of Finite Element and Grillage software packages, e.g., LUSAS and ENCAD.Experienced in undertaking bridge inspections in accordance with the Inspection Manual for Highway Structures.Decision Making Areas :

Ability to communicate effectively and supervise design work of other team members.Knowledge of duties under CDM 2015 Regulations.Working Conditions :
