Job description

JOB TITLE : Security Officer

REPORTING TO : Shared Service Manager

LOCATION : Arena Shopping Park, Coventry, CV6 6LN

CONTRACT : Fulltime Permanent

HOURS : 42 hours per week

SHIFT PATTERN : 4 on 4 off, two sets of days then two sets of nights, rolling shift pattern

PAY RATE : £ per hour

ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE

This is a permanent contract. Door Supervisor licences required. Arena Shopping Park is an indoor and outdoor shopping centre housing over 30 retail shops and restaurants. We are looking to appoint a security officer to complete our team and help maintain a safe and secure shopping environment. The customer experience should be at the heart of everything you do.

Person Specification :

  • SIA Door Supervisor licence essential
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management
  • Smart and well-groomed
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to take ownership of all situations to ensure tasks are completed or escalated when necessary.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Conflict management aware
  • Telephone skills
  • Familiar with patrolling and monitoring from a loss prevention aspect
  • Confident in complying with Health & Safety and fire prevention procedures
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations
  • Proactive attitude

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Gladly interact with all visitors / tenants within the shopping centre, delivering first class customer focused service
  • Carry out regular patrols of the shopping centre
  • Ensuring all incidents are managed in accordance with site policies and procedures
  • Liaising with site control room proactively reacting to incidents
  • Ensuring any unsecure areas of the site are reported immediately
  • Deal efficiently and effectively with all emergencies
  • Monitoring and surveillance of suspect individuals, logging, and reporting incidents in line with site / company polices
  • Maintain vigilance and highlight unauthorised access by banned individuals
  • Ensure radio procedures are always adhered to
  • Ensure all events / incidents are recorded in the DOB book correctly
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business
  • Ensure a timely response to all security issues and events
  • Complete all training requirements as requested by line manager
