Job descriptionThis will include nights away. Attending regular training sessions. Must hold a UK HGV Class 1 CE Licence. Hold a current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card. Be passionate about providing excellent customer service. Working to deadlines. Confident, polite and a team player. Good geographical knowledge. Due to the nature of the role applicants must be fit, flexible, hardworking and self-motivated. Basic salary for Class 1 Tramper is £33,pa, PLUS up to £3,pa Tax Free night out allowance. Hours of work are based on 4on 4off rota. Enhanced rates available for working weekends. £70 every 5 years for HGV Medical. Attendance for CPC paid. The position of Class 1 Tramper involves :
- Collecting and delivering customers products on a curtain sided trailer, this will include a great deal of load security using ratchet straps.
- Delivering loads throughout the UK both full and groupage loads.
- Using a handheld PDA to complete paperwork.
- Dealing with customers face to face and over the phone.
- Keeping in regular contact with the transport team for updates on progress and managing
our customers’ expectations.
