Job summary – What to expect :

As the Global Distribution Project Manager working within the CooperVision Distribution project management team based at Delta Park, UK, you will be responsible for developing and completing projects across CooperVision (CV) distribution operations as well as contributing and supporting activities across the wider organisation.

You will also be at the centre of enabling better ways of working and delivering optimal infrastructure to support the CooperVision growth agenda in a complex operational environment.

You will be expected to deliver change in our fast paced and growing distribution environment, managing, guiding and leading stakeholders throughout the CV organisation.

The successful candidate must have a strong focus on supporting change at the ‘real place’ where the ‘value happens’.

Travel Expectations :

Travel as required is dependent on project requirements and team meetings, as this role is within a global team – expected to be up to 10% of time.

About you :

We are looking for someone who has a proven record of delivering successful projects in operational functions such as within the domestic and international supply chains.

Experience & Education :

Essential

  • Financial understanding; able to define business cases, including return on investment.
  • Experience of continuous improvement and the related metrics.
  • Strong communication skills (English) in both verbal and written / presentation formats, for both informal and formal purposes, and experience working with audiences from technical implementation staff to executive leaders.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to balance competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to get the best out of cross-functional teams where subject matter expertise is critical to a project.
  • Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work, multi-task across many assignments and delegate in a high-pressure environment.
  • Customer focused with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Desirable

  • Understanding of lean as well as continuous improvement tools, and the ability to communicate and support the implementation of these tools amongst our distribution team.
  • Advanced skill in MS Office suite, including analytic skills using Microsoft Excel, business presentations using Microsoft Power Point and business / technical writing using styles and templates in Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to effectively translate between functional and technical teams.
  • Experience with cultural, organizational and business process change efforts.
  • Significant knowledge of business enterprise functions and processes.
  • Experience :

  • Significant project management practitioner experience in a distribution environment (5+ years).
  • Able to think strategically and view the business from a general management standpoint.
  • Experience in healthcare distribution and related disciplines such as FDA, GDP and HIIPA compliance is preferred.
  • Experience with cultural, organisational and business process change efforts.
  • Experience in writing technical standards and work instructions.
  • Education :

    There are many routes for candidates to have entered this field and excel at Project Management. Desirable requirements are therefore :

  • A first level degree in a supporting subject would be an advantage.
  • A mathematics qualification that encompasses data analytics techniques.
  • Fluency in English (could be first or second language).
  • Formal project management certification preferred, PRINCE2, PMI or equivalent.
