Job description

Our highly respected client in Brinkworth is looking for an experienced Van driver to join their team.

This is an ongoing position and for candidates that prove themselves to be an asset, there will be permanent contract opportunities.

Job Duties

  • Keep accurate records of deliveries.
  • Properly use and maintain delivery equipment, reporting any issues.
  • Maintain a high level of physical fitness for manual handling and driving longer routes.
  • Drive safely, following all laws and rules, maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Keep the company vehicle clean, well-maintained, and ready for operation.
  • Communicate effectively with engineers on site, updating them of any issues or changes in delivery times.
  • Follow pre-planned routes accurately, updating operations team when necessary.
  • Update operations team with results of dynamic risk assessment when changes need to be made to allow a safe delivery.
  • Assist with safe loading and unloading of vans within company guidelines and ensuring correct usage of equipment.

Additional Job Information

  • This role involves early starts, sometimes to be on site by 8am. This often means Drivers are back early afternoon.
  • There can be some waiting for access to complex sites especially those with traffic management systems.
  • Delivery sites are very variable including remote field locations and high buildings in cities.
  • Vehicles are curtain-siders and LWB Transits.
  • Take a fair share of weekend work (approx. 1 in 4 – not both days). Time-and-a-half on Saturdays and double-time on Sundays.
  • Some drops also include removing decommissioned equipment for returning to Brinkworth.

    • Requirements

  • Have experience driving vehicles
  • Happy to load and unload the vehicle, including the delivery of stock which sometimes can be heavy (sat truck provided)
  • No more than 6 penalty points

    • Hours of work

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend overtime available
  • Start times can vary daily between 03 : 00 – 06 : 00

    • Rate of Pay

  • 24,648 per anum
  • Based on hour working week
