We have fabulous opportunity for you to join our really awesome Income Collections Team in the role of an Income Community Housing Assistant. Your role in a nutshell, is to provide outstanding customer service and protect our income!

You’ll be a part of a National Income focused team which will involve the collection of Former Tenant Arrears, arrears Case Management and administration tasks around Universal Credit along with other income collection tasks. It’s also about working closely with National colleagues to make sure that we are accountable, commercial, caring and energised with everything we do.

You bring

  • A “can do” positive attitude, you’re proactive and well organised, able to work on your initiative.
  • A real passion for delivering excellent customer service and a genuine desire to help your customers.
  • Confidence working collaboratively with colleagues in other parts of the business and external partners
  • An understanding of housing management, housing law, income and universal credit would be ideal, but they’re not deal breakers!
  • The ability to use technology to navigate our systems and update customer records

There are 6 other great Community Housing Assistants in the team, and we don’t just love to support our national colleagues and customers, we’re there for each other too!

Job details

  • The great news is that you will have the flexibility of both home and office working in one of our local offices and we’ll give you the technical kit to make that easy.
  • As a team we’re critical to supporting our customers, that’s why your flexibility is key.
  • You will be proactive and accountable for managing your own diary. The good news is it’s the team’s unwritten rule that you attend the important appointments in life. So whether it’s your child’s school play, your partner’s graduation, or to get your new fridge delivered we’ll work with you in what matters. Our focus is on getting the job done, not your working hours!
  • You’ll need a Standard DBS check done and we pay for that.
  • About you

    You're passionate about delivering excellent customer service and have a genuine passion around income protection. You are a real collaborator, working with other national colleagues, external partners as well as our Customer Service Centre colleagues and our Housing Managers. You’ll use your creative spark and keen eye for detail to ensure our income collections work streams are kept up to date. Naturally empathetic, you build rapport quickly and have a sound understanding of maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries. It will also be brilliant if you have experience in debt collection and a basic understanding of housing management, housing law and universal credit too!

    Due to limits on our current certificates of sponsorship, we are not able to offer sponsorship to external candidates for this role. This remains under regular review.
