Mechanical Engineer

Job Title : Mechanical TechnicianDepartment : MaintenanceResponsible to : Maintenance ManagerSUMMARYThe position works within the plant Maintenance team covering four sites; you will be responsible for the planned preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance and not only; adhering to strict health and safety Company procedures at all times; you will be required to generate daily reports; weekly and monthly and you will be required to document all work carried out in the Maintenance system used. You will also provide guidance to Maintenance semi-skill members of the team.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• To carry out equipment breakdowns effectively and efficiently.
• To extract / receive and carry out planned preventative Maintenance (from CMMS) on all pre-processing equipment aiming to achieve maximum plant availability, with zero unplanned down time.
• Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance inspections.
• Conduct safety compliance inspections and maintain records.
• Ensure that programmed work is completed on time, to the satisfaction of business requirement.
• Working to health and safety, environmental other standards as they apply to the process.
• Maintaining standard operating procedures as required.
• Support external buildings / service maintenance contractor teams (fire alarms, compressor etc.)
• Develop / document training material to facilitate transfer of skills and knowledge to other members.
• Effective evidence and control of critical spares for all key processes and ask for complete it.
• Experience of working with engineering drawings.
• Adhere to safe working practice and procedures including and not limited to lockout, tag out, confined space and working at heights.
• Following assessment may operate a variety of equipment including loaders, forklifts, high lifts, cranes, cherry pickers or scissor lifts.
• Assist Electrical engineer on his task.QUALIFICATIONSMinimum NVQ level 3 in suitable engineering subject. IOSH desirableEXPERIENCEWelding experience will be advantageous.Minimum 2 years’ experience in specific mechanical tasks.Electrical experience would be advantageous.ADDITIONAL SKILLS
• Knowledge of production process equipment.
• Hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge.
