The role

As a Commercial Specialist, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The Submarine Dismantling Programme (SDP) will have several contracts underway, these contracts and any resultant subcontracts fall under the control of the Commercial Manager.

Day to day, you’ll ensure that all contracts entered are to the best advantage of Babcock and ensure that all claims for payment are made at the appropriate time in line with the contract.

• Ensure integrity, honesty and transparency is integral in all dealings with the Customer
• Ensure that all claims for payment are made in line with contract conditions
• Assist negotiations and participate in contract agreements with Customers and subcontractors
• Liaise with Senior Buyer SDP to assist with Invitations to Tender for potential subcontractors
• Manage contract amendments to Customer and Supplier contracts

This role is full time, 37 hours per week over Monday -Thursday and will be based at our Rosyth base. The role does come with hybrid working available depending on business needs.

Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. We are happy to consider flexible working.
