Our factory in Coventry is one of our biggest snacks manufacturing site in the UK, and home of Doritos! It is a multi-technology plant with significant automation and is home to around 650 of our team. Responsibilities

What you'll get up to

  • Develop and execute annual safety strategy and targets for site. Business partner Operations Managers and Senior Management Team to ensure effective delivery of EHS plan, to develop sustainable EHS focused culture.
  • Manage site HSE management system, to ensure compliance to PepsiCo Global standards, including internal and external audit requirements and Standard Owner capability. Ensure PepsiCo Global Core Environmental, Health and safety management standards and technical safety standards are adopted, implemented, sustained according to HSE management system requirements
  • Provide support and coaching to functional teams (Operations & Engineering) to ensure compliance to current legislation and reinforcement of site standards.
  • Critical role in change management projects to ensure safe execution of all change and risk reduction is included in all project development plans.
  • Drive a safety culture through effective communications and continuous improvement. Lead by example in embedding a culture of outstanding communication and achievement, taking opportunities to coach and develop teams across departments and shifts
  • Management of site EHS team and overall responsibility for site’s EHS competence development. Develop and deliver appropriate EHS functional and cultural development training including behavioural safety, technical risk assessment and environmental procedures.
  • Responsibility for supporting the UK Health and Safety and Environmental team meetings, creating policy and devising the tactical steps required to achieve UK’s targets.

Qualifications

What we're looking for

  • Recognised safety qualification – ideally IOSH / NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualified (additional Environmental experience would be advantageous)
  • Knowledge of legal / working requirements of Health & Safety at Work, ISO 14001. ISO 45000
  • Self-starter - you'll be able to identify and articulate value add opportunities to both peers and senior management.
  • Capable and experienced people leader : influencing, motivating and coaching skills.
  • Ability to communicate with, engage and influence all levels of stakeholders, from shop floor to senior executives
  • Ability to think strategically, translate Into practical outputs and drive the agenda forwards to deliver results.
  • Coaching – An articulate communicator who can listen to and understand people’s needs and adapts style to achieve best outcomes.
  • High drive for results and the ability to deliver the Health, Safety & Environmental agenda in tandem with the UK’s agenda, thinking creatively to deliver results in times of competing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to take terminology and translate into impactful and easily understood messages for the operations team.
