Head of Physics – Secondary School – Hyde – Full-Time

Teaching Personnel are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Head of Physics to join a successful and forward-thinking Science department at a reputable secondary school in Hyde. This is a full-time, permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity for a current Physics teacher with leadership experience or an ambitious specialist ready to take the next step in their career.

Start Date : September 2025

Location : Hyde, Greater Manchester

Contract Type : Full-time, Permanent

Salary : Paid in line with your scale + TLR (dependent on experience)

Key Responsibilities :

Lead and develop the Physics curriculum across Key Stages 3, 4, and (if applicable) 5

Support, mentor, and inspire members of the Physics teaching team

Monitor and improve student progress and attainment in Physics

Work collaboratively within the Science faculty to ensure consistency and innovation

Plan and deliver outstanding lessons that engage and challenge all learners

Promote a passion for Physics and contribute to extracurricular science opportunities

Uphold and drive the school's values and expectations across the department

The Ideal Candidate Will :

Be a qualified teacher with QTS and a specialism in Physics

Have experience teaching Physics across multiple key stages

Demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills

Have a track record of raising student achievement

Be committed to continuous professional development

Be passionate about Physics and science education
