Project Objectives :

The project’s vision is to save Jumbo from dereliction and remove it from the Heritage at Risk Register, producing a commercially viable operation that opens access to the public. We aim to bring the derelict and unique Balkerne Water Tower back into use, creatively converting it to provide a new fully accessible heritage visitor attraction for the city, combined with complementary commercial uses to add to visitor revenue and achieve financial sustainability for the long-term future.

Summary of this Role :

• Lead the programme of work to achieve the successful redevelopment of the building and its regeneration into a financially sustainable heritage asset.
• Act as the lead client representative for the project within the organisation, project team, and for external partners, stakeholders, funders, and other interested parties.
• Maintain the vision and objectives of the Trust.
• Assist in managing compliance with the requirements of the NLHF, Historic England, AHF, Colchester City Council, and other funders and regulators.
