About the Role :
We’re working with a leading provider of children’s residential care to find a passionate and experienced Senior Support Worker to join their team in Maer, Staffordshire . This home offers therapeutic, activity-led support for children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs. You’ll play a key role in helping them build resilience, develop life skills, and feel safe and supported every day.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead by example in delivering high-quality care and meaningful activities.
- Support the Registered Manager and Deputy in the day-to-day running of the home.
- Mentor and guide junior staff, helping to build a positive, nurturing environment.
- Plan and facilitate structured activities and interventions that promote emotional regulation, independence, and confidence.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and contribute to care planning.
- Safeguard the welfare of children and young people at all times.
What We’re Looking For :
Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a residential childcare setting.NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).Strong understanding of safeguarding, attachment, and trauma-informed practice.Confidence in leading shifts and supporting staff.A commitment to promoting positive outcomes through activity-based approaches.A full UK driving licence (preferred or required, depending on home’s location).Why Join This Team?
