Job descriptionExperience in supplier relationship management and negotiation. A good understanding of indirect purchasing and procurement. Excellent negotiation and relationship-building abilities. Proactive, organized, and able to work under pressure. Evidence of meeting deliverables in a fast-paced working environment. Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to demonstrate high organisational skills and continually focus on attention to detail and continuous improvement.
A manufacturer to the aerospace, automotive, defence and energy sectors has a new vacancy for a Senior Buyer to join the team. Predominantly focused on indirect buying and capital projects, candidates are sought with experience working in a fast-paced environment with strong negotiation skills and experience managing subcontractor services.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage the procurement of indirect materials, subcontract services, and supplies.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers, negotiating favourable terms and ensuring consistent service delivery.
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify purchasing needs and cost-saving opportunities.
- Monitor market trends and evaluate supplier performance for continuous improvement.
- Negotiate contracts and manage supplier terms to meet company requirements.
- Ensure all procurement processes comply with industry regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies.
- Negotiate and implement service agreements with key suppliers.
