Level 1 Teaching Assistant

27.5 hours per week (8.45am-3.30pm with 1 hour and 15mins for lunch) – Term Time only

Expected start date : 16th October 2023

Job Type : Temporary (until 31st August 2024)

Salary : Level 1 (£20,812 FTE), (£ 13,861 Actual)

St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School Academy Council is seeking to appoint a classroom Teaching Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a school which is a special place, well known for caring for its children. Main duties will include :

  • Scaffolding resources and support individual children with specific needs
  • Working with small groups of pupils to enhance the learning process
  • Assisting teachers with various tasks including helping them to prepare lesson plans or by getting equipment or materials for specific lessons
  • Helping teachers with recordkeeping, such as taking attendance registers
  • Setting up necessary material for classes (e.g. projectors, chemistry sets)
  • Escorting and supervising pupils on field trips and other school activities
  • Follow school and class rules to teach pupils proper behaviour and report to teachers about possible behavioural issues
  • Assist with classroom instruction and provide support and guidance to pupils.
