Responsibilities :
Reporting into the South West Service Manager the Generator Engineer will provide maintenance, installation, diagnosis, repair and testing services across a range of diesel generator sets, switchgear, control systems and associated equipment. Our support is carried out at clients premises or Pharos sites. Key tasks include :
- Carrying diagnostic, testing and remedial works on generators, switchgear and associated equipment, and support PPM where required to include Load banking.
- Electrical fault finding and repair
- Generator upgrades, including but not limited to Control panels
- Providing call-out cover for generator breakdowns on a rota system
- Carrying out client site visits and generating accurate and timely reports
- Projecting spares requirements for upcoming and planned works
- Team technical development, training and mentoring
- Supporting operational tasks i.e : reporting, quotations, progress reports, customer enquiries etc
- Out of hours working
- On call service
Skills, Experience and Qualifications :
Minimum 5 years experience in the generator industry with a minimum of 2 years experience in standby powerProficient in the installation and operation of DSE / ComapQualified electrical engineer i.e : NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND in Electronic / ElectricalQualified to 18th Edition Electrical Regulations2391 / 2 Inspect and TestSwitchgear experience / qualification would be highly desirableSkilled in technical report writing with acute attention to detailA good network within the Generator field would be advantageousFull UK driving licenceBenefits :
