Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and experienced clinician to work in a 1 year secondment position as the Clinical Lead for the Community Mental Health Team - Recovery and Wellbeing Team Southend.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 or above Senior Clinician to develop their leadership expertise in this specialist area. The post holder will carry responsibility.

The post holder will be responsible and provide effective leadership for the clinical team providing a high quality service as directed by, and in collaboration with, the Clinical Manager.

You will have responsibility for the day to day supervision and management of lower banded staff in line with agreed Trust HR processes. In addition, you will be expected to work collaboratively with key partner organisations, service users, carers and other practitioners within our large multidisciplinary team in delivering service. With support from the Clinical Manager, you will be actively involved in service development with responsibility for ensuring delivery of high quality, recovery focused, appropriately targeted mental health treatment and services which operate in accordance with agreed plans and objectives.

Main duties of the job

• Manage and lead the multi-professional team in the delivery of safe and effective evidence-based interventions.
• Will be required to hold a small caseload.
• To deliver a service within the agreed financial envelope ensuring maximum value in terms of clinical and cost effectiveness.
• Ensure that a culture of effective risk management is present in the team.
• Provide expertise, support and advice to clinical practitioners regarding all aspects of care including implementing best practice based on evidence base and national guidance.
• Support and guidance for relevant staff and support development and implementation of relevant training programmes and support the development of staff and their skills in working within this specialist practice area.
• To support the clinical manager with the management of staff including their personal development, wellbeing, supervision and appraisal processes.
• Deputise in the role of Clinical Manager which may, at times, require providing clinical leadership and attending management meetings.
