Job Title : Learning Support Assistant

Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to join a dynamic alternative provision setting.

This role involves working with students aged 6-16 who have been identified by their mainstream schools as at risk of permanent exclusion due to behavioural challenges, supporting their education and personal development with the goal of helping them successfully reintegrate into mainstream education and overcome any obstacles to success.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8 : 30 until 16 : 30 and is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will :

• Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
• Have experience of working in a transferable role or with SEMH individuals
• Lead activities with individuals or small groups to facilitate educational development
• Provide a stimulating and well-structured learning environment suitable for pupils with SEMH
• Be flexible and resilient
• Work effectively with parents, carers, and other members of multidisciplinary teams to provide the best support
• Possess communication skills that can be personalised to suit students of different abilities
