This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wishes to develop specialist Paediatric Diabetes Dietetic skills. We would consider applicants who are currently working as Band 5 or 6 or undergraduates soon to qualify. If offered this post as a development post we would expect the candidate to work towards completion of the required Band 5 competencies within a 12 month period.
We are a small but dynamic team of Dietitians, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy. The team is based in the community across both Scunthorpe and Grimsby sites.
You will provide specialised Paediatric Diabetic Dietetic assessment & management of children aged 0-19 years within community and inpatient arena. There will also be an opportunity to develop the relevant generalist competencies required, which will be fully supported through training if you have not completed this previously. You will be part of the wider Diabetes MDT, contributing to service development, evaluation & development of pathways and will have a key role in delivery of Education and training to both parents / carer’s / young people & to other professionals. You will work alongside our current diabetes trained dietitian & will also have access to supervision from the Diabetes Team our partner Trust, Hull University Teaching Hospital (HUTH) & the ability to access the Yorkshire and Humber Diabetes Network for ongoing support.
