Job description

Engineering Lecturer

College location : East Surrey College (Redhill)

Salary : £35,654.39 - £40,113.57 (a market supplement may apply subject to qualifications, skills, and experience)

Hours : Full time - Monday to Friday 8 : 45 am - 5 pm

We are currently seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Engineering Lecturer to join our busy and professional Technology department where you will be predominantly teaching at HNC Level 4 to adult trainees who work for a major national Electricity Network Distribution Operator.

Working closely with the Project Manager, Director of Learning, Programme Manager, and the rest of the Engineering team, you will have the chance to share your industry knowledge and skills with learners to help them achieve at the highest level as well as driving continuous improvement within the College.

You will write associated assignments in line with awarding body requirements, and develop the programmes and associated course materials. You will also provide tutorial / pastoral support for your groups, promote attendance, participate in team meetings, and support quality processes. At times you may be required to provide cover and support in other subjects and levels.

The successful candidate must have :

  • A teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards one as we welcome candidates from industry)
  • The confidence to deliver teaching at Level 4 in subjects related to Electrical Power Engineering
  • Experience of mentoring and coaching would be advantageous
  • A minimum of a level 4 qualification related to the industry

This post is a hybrid teaching post where the majority of teaching is delivered over Teams and 13 weeks of the year are then delivered in conference centers that are hotel-based in Maidstone, Crawley, Cambridge, Borehamwood, and Bury St. Edmunds.

Expenses are paid for travel and where appropriate overnight stays. This could vary according to employer demand.
