Business Manager- Mendip Rail
Create and maintain appropriate relationships within the business for the implementation of customer / client account plans to achieve strategic targets and maximize value for Mendip Rail through improved account performance.
Key accountabilities
- Establish a clear framework for integrated customer relationship management and competitor analysis
- Create, develop and implement account plans for assigned customer accounts
- Develop and manage business-to-business relationships with suppliers and promote collaborative cost avoidance
- Manage interfaces as appropriate with business line commercial, supplier accounts, internal accounts, operational, technical and customer service teams.
- Collaborate as required to ensure (MRL) secure targeted projects.
- Facilitate effective integrated market management strategies for business line customer account and core sales in conjunction with business line commercial structures
- Ensure account ledgers are maintained at an acceptable level and close out queries in a timely manner
Success in the role will be judged on timely and clear delivery of outputs :
Year on year customer profit growth through increased share of customer accounts and enhanced marginsEstablishment of clear commercial plans with business linesInitiation and closure of revenue enhancing opportunitiesImprovement in customer satisfaction survey including declining rates of queries and customer service costJob dimensions
Up-to-date information on the following areas should be provided at objective setting sessions :
Account plans - customer performance levels against target.New customer \ sector analysis for development.Major contracts development.Internal communications ie meetings with key personnel.Job requirements
Previous management-level experience in a commercial roleDemonstrable success in accounts strategy / management (preferably key contractors / specifiers / building materials) and creation of commercial business plansIn-depth knowledge of quarry productsWide network of contacts within the industryManagement / Leadership SkillsSelf-starter
