Mechanical Technician | Bolton | Full Time – 36.5 hours per week | Monday to Thursday, 7 : 30 am - 4 : 00 pm, and Friday, 7 : 30 am – 12 : 00 pm | £28,000 – £35,000 per year

They are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to join their team in Bolton.

Are you the right person for the job?

  • Previous experience working in a workshop environment, with proven experience in general fitting
  • Proven experience in general machining (e.g., turning, milling), stripping and assembling mechanical seals and pumps, and planning the manufacture and repair of components

  • Minimum - completion of a recognised engineering apprenticeship (e.g. City & Guilds, BTEC 3, NVQs) (Preferred)
  • Good level of PC literacy with experience of using PC’s, Windows, Microsoft, etc. (Preferred)

What will your role look like?

  • To receive, inspect and assess mechanical seals and rotating equipment for repair in accordance with company policy and procedures
  • Repair, assemble and test mechanical seals and rotating equipment in accordance with company policy and procedures
  • Promote and support the company quality & safety standards, focusing on continuous improvement whilst contributing to, and demonstrating the company values and behaviours
  • Ensure all equipment received for repair is entered on the system in line with company KPI's
  • Create and / or compile all relevant documents and ensure all information is present, correct and stored digitally in the correct location
  • Effectively assess mechanical seals and rotating equipment for repair in accordance with procedures, creating relevant assessment & inspection reports
  • Effectively plan the repair and manufacture of parts using the ERP system
  • Ensure the cleanliness and suitability of all seal and rotating equipment components during assessment, repair & assembly
  • Ensure all drawings, specifications & SOPS, etc are adhered to
  • Ensure all necessary machining & repairing of components is completed to specifications (turning, milling, grinding, polishing, lapping, etc)
  • Ensure all workshop paperwork is complete as required
  • Identify areas for improvement and contribute to the development of systems, processes and procedures
  • Contribute to the maintenance, development and improvement of the facility, equipment and machinery
  • Contribute to the maintenance of health and safety procedures
