We are looking for a Patient Pathway Support Clerk who can help us deliver an efficient, high quality medical records service across the Long Term and Unscheduled Care Directorate. This role is essential to providing safe care to our patients by ensuring that medical records are in the right place at the right time for patients to be treated and then returned to the correct storage location.

Main duties of the job

The post requires an efficient, caring and proactive individual with an appreciation and understanding of the confidential nature of the work.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail, be excellent communicators with good telephone skills and have the ability to meet deadlines on a daily basis whilst maintaining a positive approach, and providing a quality service that supports our patient care.

Job responsibilities

Main responsibilities :

  • You would be responsible for storage, retrieval and management of patient health records, ensuring that notes are prepared and available for Outpatient clinics and that they contain the correct documents.
  • Inputting data and managing appointments on the electronic patient administration system.
  • Make, change or cancel appointments on the phone in line with Trust policies and procedures.

Person Specification

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English grade D or above or NVQ Level 2 or above in Business Administration
  • Previous experience of working as a team
  • Desirable

  • Trained in iCS, eRS, CRIS and SystmOne
  • Previous experience of working in a Medical Records Department
  • Previous experience of working within the NHS
