Job Vacancy

Older Peoples services is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Quality Assurance Officer who enjoys working with older people to join our supportive and well-integrated health and social care teams. You will undertake a range of tasks including regular audits and monitoring of the Self-Directed Supported Option 2 providers and the services they deliver.

Essential

  • HNC or equivalent level qualification in Social Care or related subject.
  • An understanding of compliance with standards within a quality framework, service standards, and performance indicators.
  • Competency in communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, along with strong organisational and analytical skills.
  • PC / keyboard skills and competency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent applications, as well as the ability to transfer skills to use a range of other software applications.
  • Car driver with access to own vehicle.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of care at home and care home working practices in both Local Government provision and the independent sector.

    Please note that it is Midlothian Council's policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale. Based on working 36 hours over 52 weeks per year, the minimum actual salary for this position is £30,243.53 per annum.

    Requirements

    This post is considered Regulated Work with Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with Adults. Successful candidates will require PVG Scheme membership for Regulated Work with Adults. You will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment with Midlothian Council, the cost of which will be met by you.
