Job Description

Willow Green Academy is looking to appoint a Teacher with SENCO responsibilities to join our academy as soon as possible, on a full-time, permanent basis.

Willow Green Academy is a single-form-entry school situated in Ferrybridge, West Yorkshire, with approximately 220 pupils on roll, including 14 part-time Nursery pupils. We pride ourselves on our welcoming atmosphere and community ethos, aiming to provide our children with rich learning experiences designed to develop the whole child. This is encapsulated in our school motto : ‘A childhood of experiences for a lifetime of success’.

At Willow Green Academy, everyone works together within a positive, calm, and nurturing environment, insisting upon high aspirations for all pupils and staff. We believe that all our children can achieve, and we ensure that our pupils are given the opportunities and support they need to thrive and succeed.

Through our broad ASPIRE curriculum, pupils experience a wide variety of engaging learning opportunities. Our extensive grounds provide opportunities for outdoor learning, including forest schools in our very own nature area. ASPIRE represents the strands of Achievement, Safety, Pride, Independence, Responsibility, and Engagement as these are the core values that drive everything we do. Our aim is that our pupils leave us as well-developed, rounded citizens with strong personal, social, and communication skills, along with a sense of independence, confidence, and identity. They will also possess secure skills and knowledge across the curriculum, focusing on the importance of strong communication, language, and oracy.

Pupils, staff, and parents are proud of Willow Green, the exciting learning that takes place here, and the community atmosphere that is central to everything we do.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a forward-thinking, ambitious team in a welcoming, friendly school. This role would suit anyone looking to progress in their teaching career and develop their wider leadership responsibilities.

Visits to the academy are warmly welcomed by appointment. Please contact the academy at 01977 722487 if you would like to arrange a visit or if you require any further information.
