Assistant Accountant

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Assistant Accountant to join an expanding business in Driffield

They are on a growth journey, have recently implemented a new ERP system and looking to build on their controls and analysis to enable to double their turnover in the next 3 years

This role reports to the Finance Manager and is responsible for transactions up to Trial Balance for 2 companies.

• Support the Finance Manager with accounting and financial control tasks
• Maintain accounts payable and receivable ledgers
• Upload payable invoices onto the ledger
• Bank reconciliation in various currencies
• Month end overhead analysis
• Maintenance of the fixed asset register and posting period depreciation journals
• VAT returns for UK and European monthly / quarterly returns
• Preparation of accruals and prepayments for monthly management accounts, including maintaining a details analysis of the balance
• Intrastat reporting
