St Anns Hospiceis growing! Were currently in the process of building a brand-new hospice inHeald Green, and were looking for someone to join the Education andDevelopment Team as a Clinical Educator, to support and nurture our staff to deliverthe best possible care for our patients.
Location
This role is primarily located at our Heald Green site (Cheadle) however there is a requirement for cross site travel to deliver training at our site in Little Hulton.

Main duties of the job
You will be a role model for excellence in palliative care, working with staff in clinical practice to promote the acquisition of new and essential skills and knowledge, to enable their personal and professional development and organisational objectives.
- Maintain professional registration and practice within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
- Plan, organise, deliver and evaluate training and education programmes for multi-professional and multi-disciplinary staff.
- Deliver clinical education and work-based programmes that relate to quality patient care, 3-day Palliative Care Course. Teaching and supporting professionals in clinical settings and formal assessment of supervised practice.
- Prepare and deliver training to clinical staff and proactively identify ongoing educational needs
- Manage the LMS system, and maintain clinical training registers
- Work collaboratively to develop staff clinical competencies
- Keep up to date with any local, regional or national policies / priorities.
- Support Students who attend St Anns Hospice for clinical placements.
- Develop and maintain highly effective communication networks in the GM to better represent the Education and Development team at a range of appropriate multi-professional meetings internally and externally.

The successful candidate will be subject to a Standard DBS Check, the cost of which is covered by the hospice. Any post holder within the organisation will be expected to undertake safeguarding training appropriate to their role and adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures. All staff must work in accordance with their statutory roles and responsibilities in relation to safeguarding in accordance with the Working Together to Safeguarding Children 2023, The Care Act 2014, and Prevent Duty 2015.

The Clinical Educator will :

In agreement with the E&D Manager andthe ward manager(s), work in the clinical areas to offer support and guidanceto members of the team on specific issues.Work collaboratively to develop staffclinical competencies, implement and evaluate initiatives to sustain suchcompetencies.Work collaboratively with HEIs and Trustsin our locality to ensure we provide an effective learning environment forstudents of all disciplines on clinical placements.Be a key trainer for moving and handling,BLS and MMU, attend all relevant updates and deliver training to appropriatestaff.Prepare and deliver formal training to theclinical staff the annual Medicine Management Update, Mandatory training,Communication skills and additional courses which relate to palliative care.Keep up to date with any local, regional ornational policies / priorities.Where appropriate support Students whoattend SAH for clinical placements, adhering to the processing outlined in theClinical Placement and Workplace shadowing policy.Person Specification

Essential
The Clinical Educator will have :First level Registered Nurse qualification with current registration with NMC or an Allied Health professional qualification with current professional registration.Relevant professional degree (or equivalent) and evidence of continuing professional development in palliative care.Experience of teaching both practice and theory in a variety of settings to clinical and non-clinical staff, to individuals and teams.Thorough understanding of EOL agenda, NICE supportive & palliative care guidance and other relevant service frameworks.Ability to travel independently as some cross-site and local travel will be necessary.
