Job Title : Deputy Manager - Residential Children's Home

Location : Hoddesdon

Salary : £30,000 - £35,000 per annum depending on experience

Are you a passionate and experienced childcare professional looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference in the lives of young people? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you in a residential care home in Hoddesdon.

About the Role :

We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality care and support to young people within a nurturing and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Work closely with the Home Manager to ensure the smooth and effective day-to-day running of the home.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of dedicated Residential Childcare Workers.
  • Develop and implement individual care plans for young people, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Build positive relationships with young people, their families, and other professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and best practice guidelines.
  • Deputise for the Home Manager in their absence.
  • Participate in on-call rota as required.

Essential Criteria :

  • Diploma Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
  • Proven experience of working in a residential care setting for young people.
  • Experience of supervising and mentoring staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of young people.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations (e.g., Children Act 1989).
