About the Role

Our client, a successful and ambitious secondary school in West Yorkshire, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students and contribute to a high-achieving mathematics department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 if applicable.
  • Create an engaging and supportive learning environment that enables all students to reach their full potential.
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and implementing interventions where necessary.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and development, ensuring lessons are aligned with national standards and school objectives.
  • Maintain high expectations of student behaviour and foster a positive and respectful classroom culture.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and stay updated with educational developments.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to support student learning and progress.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, school events, and wider school initiatives as required.

Person Specification

Essential :

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching Maths at secondary level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for mathematics.
  • Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • A commitment to raising student attainment and supporting progress.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Desirable :

  • Experience teaching Maths at Key Stage 5.
  • Familiarity with current GCSE and A-Level specifications.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to extracurricular activities such as maths clubs, STEM projects, or competitions.
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to support diverse learning needs.
