The opportunity
While ostensibly based at Wimbledon College of Arts you will be required to have flexibility to support the delivery of academic learning activities within our lecture theatres, seminar spaces and studios, working to a rota across our three colleges (Camberwell, Chelsea, Wimbledon) to ensure operational delivery as required.
This is a full-time, site-based role which may on occasion involve some flexible working to support after-hours on site events.
You’ll provide responsive on-demand, in-person assistance to staff, supporting them in their use of AV hardware and software for teaching, remote learning, lecture capture and live streaming.
About you
With relevant qualifications to degree level or above and / or equivalent industry experience and certification (Avixa CTS), you’ll have Audio-Visual support experience as an AV technician in a higher education or enterprise environment.
You’ll be able to demonstrate significant experience of working in a busy customer / client facing role, where you provided technical support for professional AV hardware and software solutions. Recognised AV industry certification would be an advantage.
You’ll have gained knowledge of professional integrated audio-visual solutions and related software and will be looking to develop your skills in sharing this knowledge in supporting colleagues. You’ll have a strong working knowledge of common switching, distribution, audio and video solutions - preferably Extron, QSys and AMX.
You’re able to install and operate a wide range of AV equipment confidently including IT, projection, presentation, audio and camera equipment. Additionally, you’ll be capable of accurate fault-diagnosis, maintenance, testing & repair as appropriate. Some of these tasks involve working at height.
