Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant

Location : Coventry

Hours : Full Time (Monday to Friday, 8 : 30am to 3 : 30pm)

Weekly Salary : £425 to £450

Contract : Temporary (Opportunities to go permanent)

Teaching Personnel are seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join a highly respected specialist SEN school in Coventry as a Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant . This school provides a unique and nurturing learning environment for students aged 7 to 19 , supporting those with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), Social, Emotional & Mental Health Needs (SEMH), vision impairments, and physical disabilities .

Your Role :

Provide 1 : 1 and small group support to students with ASC, SEMH, and additional complex needs.
Assist in core subjects such as English and Maths , under the guidance of the class teacher.
Foster a structured, inclusive, and engaging learning environment tailored to individual needs.
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and pastoral staff to support students' progress.
Maintain records and contribute to individual learning and development plans .

Qualifications and Requirements :

Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English .

A bachelor’s degree in psychology, Education, or a related field (desirable but not essential).

Experience working with children with SEN or an understanding of additional needs (desirable).

A genuine passion for supporting young people with diverse needs.

A clear enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.

A Full UK driving licence (desirable).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
