RC Fornax is seeking a range of experienced Systems Engineers to join our leading defence client. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to expand their skills and expertise within a dynamic and growing organisation.

Key Responsibilities :

As a valued member of our engineering team, you will :

  • Carry out design activities across equipment, system, and software levels.
  • Ensure technical requirements are met from initial design to customer acceptance.
  • Develop and review project documentation including test plans, specifications, and procedures.
  • Conduct system testing and qualification activities throughout project phases.
  • Identify and manage technical risks and opportunities.
  • Contribute to customer-facing design reviews and acceptance events, both on-site and off-site.
  • Support the safety, reliability, and long-term maintenance of products.
  • Collaborate on technical proposals to support business development.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and customers.
  • Contribute to internal R&D initiatives, enhancing quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Essential Skills :

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Track record of delivering complex system design, implementation, test and integration in the Defence (or similar, highly regulated) domain.
  • Experience of full system lifecycle, design, development, testing, integration and acceptance.
  • The ability to analyse and specify system acceptance requirements.
  • Understanding of network technologies.
  • Appreciation of complex electronics and firmware design principles.
  • Strong technical knowledge of military-grade COTS communication and sensor systems.
  • Desirable Skills :

  • Experience of agile or spiral development lifecycles.
  • Experience of Model Based Systems Engineering.
  • Experience of Windows and Linux Operating Systems.
  • Appreciation of modern software design techniques and languages (e.g. C++, Java, C#) (desirable).

  • Working pattern :

    Flexible working, 5 days on site per week. They operate around the core working hours of 09 : 30-12 : 00 & 14 : 00-16 : 00.

    Available Locations :

    Portland (Near Weymouth) or Chertsey (West London)

    Due to the nature of this projects, successful Systems Engineer must have the ability to obtain SC and / or DV Clearence and be sole British national.
