About the Role & Client :

My client, a leading UK-based IT Services & Consulting organisation, is seeking an experienced Platform Specialist to apply their knowledge of Automation within their global platform development team on a permanent basis. The consultant will initially be placed onto a major project with a globally operating financial organisation (approximate duration : 2+ years), where they will apply hands-on skills in Automation and CI / CD technologies.

Team Leadership : Ideally, the candidate will have some level of team leadership experience to provide mentorship to less senior team members.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Act as Automation Specialist within a globally operating Platform team environment.
  • Lead and mentor a small team of junior engineers.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and methodologies.
  • Design, implement, and maintain CI / CD pipelines (automation).
  • Manage and optimize Windows Server environments (2019, 2022) and / or Linux environments (RHEL 8 / 9).
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools using SNOW, Terraform, Ansible Tower, GIT, API, YAML, and HCL (HashiCorp Configuration Language).
  • Utilize YAML, Git, Ansible Tower, and CI / CD pipelines.
  • Design and implement Automation products, IT tooling, scanning solutions, CI / CD, etc.
  • Work with Automation products such as Ansible / Ansible Tower, Chef Inspec .
  • Design, implement, and manage CI / CD pipelines for continuous integration and deployment.

    • Candidate Experience :

  • Strong recent professional experience within large Financial Services environments, with an understanding of the sector.
  • Experience with Windows Server 2019 / 2022 and / or Linux RHEL 8 / 9 .
  • Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) .
  • Proficiency in SNOW, Terraform, Ansible Tower, GIT, API, YAML, and HCL .
  • Subject Matter Expertise in Automation and CI / CD tools & products : Ansible / Ansible Tower, Chef Inspec .
  • Excellent hands-on design and engineering skills.
