Digital Accounting Support Technician - Devon / Remote - £25k - £30k

  • Please note that this role will be permanently based from home / remote, but candidates must reside within a commutable distance of Devon

Trial Balance Consulting have been exclusively reengaged by our long standing client, a very rapidly growing and highly successful software developer who produce market leading digital accounting solutions to finance functions throughout the UK. They are a genuine market leader in their field and their software as widely regarded as the industry standard. The company’s senior management team are friendly and down to earth, yet driven and passionate about developing their application and this approach has contributed to the accelerated growth of the business.

We have introduced a number of employees to the business over the past few years and not one has left the company’s employment. The role represents a rare opportunity to work with an employer whose staff retention and development is almost unrivalled. This role is permanently based remotely / from home. However, suitable candidates must ideally be based within a commutable distance of the company HQ in Devon to enable ongoing product training and to ensure that you have a close working relationship with your colleagues. The company will provide all of the necessary IT and telephony equipment, broadband, and even home office furniture to ensure that the role can be completed in comfort and with all tools at your disposal.

Working closely with a friendly and knowledgeable team, the successful candidate will act as a key point of contact to software users seeking technical support and guidance. Supports requests may be as simple as posting invoices or perhaps more complex, requiring escalation to the senior support team. Whatever the query, the successful candidate will be focussed on delivering high quality customer service throughout. Key responsibilities will include supporting software users in a multitude of areas to include :

  • Day-to-day bookkeeping
  • Processing accounts payable and receivable invoices
  • Bank reconciliations
  • VAT and tax reporting
  • Journal entries, pre payments, accruals etc.
  • For this role we’re looking for an enthusiastic individual with at least 2 years of recently experience working at least an Accounts Assistant level. You should have a solid understanding of the main accounting principles and an understanding of the finance lifecycle. The company provides bespoke sector specific software and whilst previous experience won’t be required, you will need to possess a strong working knowledge of MS Excel.
