Job description

Are you interested in a career in arts administration? Do you have a strong interest in working with schools and helping make a positive difference to young people's lives?

We are looking for a new team member to assist our Learning team on a variety of exciting projects, programmes, and events. This entry level role is a 12-month fixed term contract and is an ideal for anyone interested in gaining experience for a career in the Arts.

The RSC plays a leading role in transforming who learns about, enjoys, shapes, and participates in Shakespeare's work. We are passionate about the impact the arts can have on every young person's life and work with thousands of young people, teachers, and partner theatres, using Shakespeare and theatre to unlock potential and contribute to a more just society.

Key responsibilities will include :

  • Providing administrative support across a varied range of programmes and projects
  • Assisting with the administration, completion and return of evaluation and feedback
  • Issuing and processing invoices, purchase orders and expenses
  • Supporting and maintaining reporting systems
  • Being the first point of contact for all enquiries
  • Supporting the coordination of materials and resources required for events and projects
  • Working closely with colleagues to schedule activity
  • Participating in department activities, meetings, and events

The ideal candidate will have an interest in working in the Arts (although maybe for the first time), have an organised approach, and excellent communication skills. You must enjoy meeting new people and enjoy the thought of working as part of a team.

You do not need to have a background in theatre for this role, just an interest in working with us and a positive, can-do approach.

The post is offered as a fixed term contract and is flexible between home working and some days (currently 2 per week) in Stratford-upon-Avon. The post is full-time 35 hours per week (Monday - Friday).

We are committed to cultivating a diverse and inclusive workplace culture, and welcome and encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds, identities and lived experiences.

We offer support and resources to aid access to the application and interview process, as well as the role itself, should you be successful.
