Business Development Executive

Location : Central London

Salary : Up to £33,000 plus bonus!

COREcruitment is working with a fantastic central London venue is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Executive to join its venue sales team.

You will play a crucial role in identifying and securing new business opportunities, driving revenue growth, and cultivating relationships with high-profile clients. Reporting to the Key Account Manager, the role involves proactive engagement with prospective clients to ensure the commercial success of this renowned events space. You will have a proven track record in sales and business development within the events industry, a passion for exceeding revenue targets, and the ability to represent a distinguished brand with professionalism and finesse.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development and Proactive Sales

  • Lead Generation : Focus on securing new business opportunities by identifying, pursuing, and closing high-value corporate and private event clients.
  • Market Research : Conduct thorough research to uncover emerging trends, potential client opportunities, and avenues for growth in the events industry.
  • Client Prospecting : Engage with prospective clients through networking, cold outreach, and attending industry events to promote the venue's unique offerings.
  • Proposal Development : Craft compelling, tailored proposals and presentations that showcase the venue's value proposition to prospective clients.

Revenue Growth

  • Sales Targets : Meet and exceed individual sales targets, contributing to department goals exceeding £7M+ in year one with ambitions for continual growth.
  • Contract Negotiation : Lead negotiations with clients, achieving terms that balance profitability with customer satisfaction.
  • Pipeline Management : Maintain an accurate and up-to-date sales pipeline, tracking leads and opportunities in the CRM system and reporting progress to management.
  • Client Relationship Management

  • Onboarding : Facilitate a smooth transition from prospect to client by coordinating with the events team for seamless service delivery.
  • Relationship Building : Foster long-term relationships with key clients, ensuring repeat business and referrals by delivering exceptional experiences.
  • Retention Strategies : Develop strategies to retain high-value clients, identifying their needs and exploring opportunities for multi-year agreements.
  • Collaboration and Communication

  • Internal Collaboration : Partner with planning and operations teams to ensure events are delivered to the highest standard, using excellent organisational skills to manage client handovers.
  • Stakeholder Engagement : Liaise with key stakeholders across the venue to align sales activities with broader business goals.
  • Reporting : Provide regular updates to the Head of Sales on sales performance, pipeline status, and market insights.
  • Strategic Contribution

  • Sales Strategy : Offer input on the sales strategy by sharing insights from market trends and client feedback.
  • Innovation : Monitor industry developments and competitors to propose fresh ideas for business development and client engagement.
  • Brand Representation : Act as a brand ambassador at industry events and networking opportunities, enhancing market visibility.
  • About you!

  • Significant experience in business development or sales within the events industry, with a proven ability to secure and close high-value deals.
  • A proactive attitude with a strong desire to exceed targets.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the events industry, including key players, trends, and competitors.
  • Existing network of corporate and entertainment industry contacts (preferred).
  • Familiarity with CRM tools such as Salesforce or Delphi is an advantage.
