Salary

17.16 per hour based on a 37-hour working week, optional overtime available and weekend working paid at £18.88 per hour.

Stagecoach East Midlands operates 500 vehicles over 8 sites, and our Mansfield team is looking for people from a background in vehicle mechanical / electrical engineering to be part of our growing team. You may be in a truck / HGV, rail, light commercial, or automotive setting at the moment but fancy a change of vehicle to enhance your skill set.

Likewise, if you’ve got PCV experience, you’ll still find new opportunities to learn given the variety and modernity of our fleet.

Here at East Midlands, we operate a varied range of vehicles daily, such as Alexander Dennis, Scania, Volvo, MAN, and Optare vehicles, to name a few. At Mansfield alone, we have 84 vehicles, predominantly Alexander Dennis.

Those customers rely on our services to get them to work, to the high street, to hospitals, to days away, and nights out – and as part of our engineering team, you’ll be a key part in making sure our vehicles are in tip-top condition to do just that. It’s a really important role within our depot, so we’ll make sure you’re as looked after as our vehicles are!

Don’t worry if you’ve not worked on these vehicles before (or indeed buses) – we’ll train you on everything you need to know, and you’ll be supported by a great team of fellow Electricians, Mechanics, Technicians, and Engineering Managers who all pull together to do a brilliant job.

And interestingly it’s not all depot-based work – you could well find yourself out and about dealing with vehicle issues on the road, so it won’t always be the same four walls you’re looking at!

You will be given exposure to work which will develop your skills and experience to allow you to progress your career further. The vast majority of our Engineering Managers and Directors are home-grown talent – so that could very well be you in the not too distant future!
