With a focus on inclusion and a holistic approach to education, these schools are known for creating a supportive and motivating atmosphere for both students and staff.The JobWe are looking for a dedicated and compassionate 1 : 1 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support to students with additional learning needs. In this role, you will :

  • Provide one-on-one support to a student with SEN, assisting them with their learning and helping them access the curriculum.
  • Tailor teaching strategies to meet the specific needs of the student, ensuring they are fully engaged in their lessons.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) for the student.
  • Support the student with social, emotional, and behavioral needs, helping them build confidence and develop positive relationships.
  • Assist the student with daily tasks, including personal care and ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Promote independence and self-confidence in the student, empowering them to achieve their goals.
  • Monitor the student’s progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and parents.Could This Be Right For You? Are You…..
  • Qualified : Hold a relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 / 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent) or have significant experience working with SEN students.
  • Experienced : Have experience working with students with SEN or a strong interest in supporting students with additional learning needs.
  • Skilled : Demonstrate patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt to the specific needs of the student.
  • Personable : Caring, resilient, and dedicated to providing the best support for students. You’ll be someone who can develop strong, positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.Desirable Skills :
  • Experience supporting students with a range of SEN, including autism, dyslexia, ADHD, or physical disabilities.
  • A good understanding of different communication methods (e.g., Makaton, PECS).
  • Knowledge of strategies to support students’ emotional and behavioral needs.
