Special Needs Teaching Assistant

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to work at a mainstream primary school in Selly Oak supporting pupils with complex needs. This rewarding and dynamic role requires a proactive, compassionate individual with a strong background in supporting young children with additional needs. You will be working closely with children who may require personalised learning approaches and support in their daily activities. Key Responsibilities : Provide one-on-one or small group support to children with complex needs, ensuring they are fully included in the curriculum. Assist with behavioural management, supporting pupils to develop social and communication skills. Work closely with teachers and other professionals to plan and implement individual education plans (IEPs). Support with personal care when required (though this is not essential). Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment. Assist with various classroom activities, helping children to stay focused and engaged.
