HGV Class 2 Driver

Our client has over 40 years’ experience within the manufacturing industry and is the UKs largest stockists and processors of sheet steel. They are currently seeking an HGV Class 2 Driver to join their busy team in St Leonards, East Sussex.The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience as an HGV Class 2 Driver, hold a Full HGV II – Cat C licence, hold a valid CPC qualification card and digital tachograph card and possess a good geographical knowledge.As an HGV Class 2 Driver you will drive the company vehicle to customers to deliver and collect loads, ensuring that all orders, delivery notes and documentation have been checked and completed. You will carry out vehicle / equipment inspections daily and report any defects to the Transport Manager as well as completing and complying with all legislative and company requirements regarding the vehicle tachograph. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualities : Demonstrable experience as an HGV Class 2 DriverMust hold a Full HGV II – Cat C licenceMust hold a valid CPC qualification card and a digital tachograph cardPossess good geographical knowledge Be friendly and approachable with good communication and customer service skillsHave a good attention to detailYour duties as an HGV Class 2 Driver will include : Driving category HGV II – Category C vehicle on behalf of the company with high standards of customer service and legal compliance knowledge at all timesCarrying out vehicle / equipment inspections daily and immediately reporting any defects to the Transport ManagerCompleting and complying with all legislative and company requirements regarding the vehicles TachographChecking safe and legal loading and offloadingChecking all orders, delivery notes and documentationInforming the Transport Manager in good time of any incidents involving you / your vehicle and / or if you are unable to perform tasks required on timeKeeping accurate records / documentation associated with your workComplying with policies and procedures, codes and legislation including Health and SafetyThis role will require you to occasionally stay away overnightSalary and Rewards Package : A basic hourly wage with overtime paid at time and halfPallet bonusNight out payments including overnight parking feesHours : Full Time, Permanent Location : St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex
