We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused General Manager for our 156 key Aparthotel in Aldgate, London. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall operation of the hotel and will play a pivotal role in achieving our business goals. Developing and retaining a high-performing team, building connections to the local community and driving revenue through strategic initiatives, will be key to your success in this role.

Support the Operations Manager, and HODs in all aspects of running the property, including front office, housekeeping, F&B, maintenance, sales and revenueEnsure that all departments operate within the brand SOPs, monitoring and taking action to any feedback within a timely mannerRegularly evaluate individual and team performance against their goals to drive a high performance culture. Offer constructive feedback through on-the-job training, performance appraisals, one-on-one discussions, and team meetings.Produce forecasts for revenues and costs and monitor that these are maintained within budgetary constraints and communicate to the MD any shortcomings as soon as possibleEnsure the hotel complies with all legislation and Staycity Group requirements regarding H&S and any other statutory regulationsEnhance the team's skills and knowledge by delivering department-specific training plans that align with our strategic goalsCultivate collaborative relationships with other departments, fostering effective communication and teamwork across the organization.Monitor and action feedback received through guest satisfaction surveys, 3rd party websites and from guests after, and during their stay and resolve any guest disputes and complaints in a professional manner and within guidelines issuedRequired Skills and Experience
Proven leadership experience and 3+ years in a similar role within a lifestyle hotel or aparthotel, combined with strong F&B experience - this is essentialDemonstrated success in driving revenues through the strategic management of commercial initiativesHumble and approachable, fostering a positive and inclusive work environmentForward-thinking and innovative, always looking for opportunities to improve operationsSelf-motivated and able to inspire and lead the team effectivelyEnergetic, flexible, and adaptable to changing circumstancesPossesses a keen eye for detail and is highly organizedAbility to adapt effectively and make decisions under pressureProficiency in engaging in strategic business discussions at a higher levelDemonstrable ability to motivate, appraise, support and challenge the team to deliver world-class results on every aspect of the businessExperience in providing training, guidance, and support to all teams, actively participating in day-to-day department activities and driving the culture of the teamA bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferredIf you possess the ability to navigate through challenges with a blend of kindness and clarity, backed by data-driven decision-making skills, we'd love to hear from you!
