Our Wealth and Personal Banking business supports millions of individuals, families, business owners, investors and entrepreneurs worldwide. We provide products and services that include current accounts, credit cards, personal loans and mortgages, as well as savings, investments, insurance and wealth management. We also have specialised relationship managers who support customers with bespoke requirements, including high net worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients.
The Buying a Home Team is part of Retail Banking and has responsibility for the mortgage portfolios of HSBC and First Direct, representing c.£100bn+ in balances, and which generate a significant part of UK Retail Bank and Wealth Management profit. The team drives all product development, pricing, retention, communication, product management and maintains compliance with relevant regulatory and internal policy mandates across the UK bank.
The Mortgage Product team is part of Buying a Home, within Retail Banking UK WPB and has responsibility for the mortgage portfolios of HSBC and first direct representing £100bn+ in balances.
The UK mortgage market is highly regulated; therefore, a comprehensive understanding of UK Mortgage Regulation is required to be developed within the role.The team also has a responsibility to protect the business by adhering to regulatory and reputational responsibilities, against a backdrop of delivering consistently good outcomes for customers whilst maximising commercial opportunities and minimising risk for the bank.The role will work closely with UKT, HOST, UWS, Distribution, Credit Risk, Mortgage Operations, Legal and Compliance teams to drive change and support run the bank activities, in addition to third party partners.
