Plater Fabricator

My busy Chesterfield based client are currently seeking experienced and talented Platers Fabricators for their impressive, modern facility with immediate effect.Duties and Responsibilities :

• Fabrication and development on bespoke steel fabrications in a heavy engineering environment.
• Using varying workshop tools, plant and machinery.
• Working from engineering drawings & specifications.
• Expert level of building parts / assemblies to engineering drawings.
• Welding to a high quality.
• Measuring and marking out plate and sections for cutting, shaping and drilling.
• Adherence to all health & safety policies and procedures.Knowledge, Skills and Experience needed :
• Confident plater & fabricator (ideally 3-5 years’ experience)
• Experience in welding, drilling, tapping & cutting
• Aptitude for interpretation of engineering drawings and working from scratch
• Ideally apprentice trained or relevant qualifications.
• Experience operating fabrication machinery
• Must have worked within a heavy steel industry (with experience on large structures, for example bridges, staircases, etc…)
• Confident working from engineering drawings from scratch.Working Hours / Benefits
• Monday to Thursday 7.00am to 4.00pm
• Friday 7.00am to 12.00pm
• Rate of pay - £16 per hour
• Overtime – 1.5x
• 12-week temp to perm
